" Syntrillium has
updated Cool Edit Pro 2 to a level that matches or surpasses
all competitors.
This
popular audio program's new version serves up some real surprises
There
is no equivalent program that offers this level of editing,
recording, mixing and processing ower at a comparable price.

" All in all, this
is a feature-packed upgrade to an outstanding product...
An
audio Swisss army knife gets several new blades.
Cool
Edit Pro is worth the price just for its comprehensive (and
sometimes unique) effects. "

" Don't let the
price mislead you - Cool Edit Pro 2 is feature-rich.
...I
have more costly editing programs, there were times when
CEP2 came through when others couldn't
...for
those getting into serious digital audio work, a program as
capable as Cool Edit Pro 2 at this price is very hard to resist.

" Cool Edit Pro
2.0 claims up to 128 tracks of audio playback, even with relatively
slow computers. What makes this possible is a clever premixing
technique that works in the background as you record and edit...
If you use a laptop with a 5400 RPM hard drive and an older/slower
Pentium, CEP2 is about the only multitrack audio program that
won't leave you screaming in frustration. ...
For
stereo audio editing, CEP2 is great...I particularly like
some of the little touches, like scripting and being able
to define a loop length down to the single sample. CEP has
always had legions of devotees who appreciate being able to
get something this good at such a reasonable price. I'm sure
their devotion will only increase when they see 2.0's array
of new features... Normally after doing a review, I uninstall
the program to keep my system as simple as possible. But CEP2
is staying on the hard drive - with a desktop shortcut, too.

I can find almost nothing ill to say about CEP 2.0. It installs
like a dream, it does music looping, the effects are a gas and
the Red Rover controller gives you back fingertip control over
your production. "

Red Rover & Cool Edit Pro review
"
One of the great innovations that Syntrillium has come up
with is Red Rover...This is a great device that allowed me
to arm tracks for recording while standing in my vocal recording
area, right in front of the microphone, without having to
run back to the mouse or keyboard every time I hit a sour
note. ...it’s a bargain and highly recommended for Cool Edit
Pro 2.0 owners. Using the software without it now would seem
foreign.
In
spite of owning most of the software on the market for audio
and MIDI and looping, lately I’ve found myself opening up
Cool Edit Pro 2.0 when working on a new project because of
its intuitive design and stability. "

" Cool Edit Pro
has been long venerated as a high-quality audio editing tool.
For many of my friends and colleagues, this program is their
audio production tool of choice. This is my first time using
the program, and I have to say that I was pleased with how well
it worked, as well as all its cool effects, especially the restoration
and forensic tools...So here's the deal: If you're looking for
a powerful Windows digital audio editing program, download a
demo of Cool Edit Pro and check it out. And if you don't want
to spend an extra $625 on controller hardware, have Syntrillium
send Red Rover right over when you buy your copy of Cool Edit
Pro. At $378 for both, it's a bargain. "

Don't pass on the latest version of this affordable classic
if you're into digital audio creation and editing on the PC.
FIVE
STARS OUT OF FIVE!
Traditional
musicians will find recording live over locked tracks a seamless
experience, but building tracks using loops is also a blast.

"There can be few projects that
Cool Edit Pro could not handle with ease, finesse and aplomb.
The version 2 update has honed what was already an accomplished
program. What is surprising is that the price has actually come
down since version 1. Buy it now in case they decide to put
it up again!"

"
Syntrillium have managed to improve this popular, cost-effective,
multi-faceted audio editing software package in just about
every direction, while also adding a lot of new functionality--
all of which is useful rather than just clever. Cool Edit
Pro deserves to be taken seriously as an audio workstation
par excellence.
Considering
the prevalence of Macs and Mac-only software in the audio
industry, it's at times like this when I enjoy being a PC
user. To Mac users we can now say: nah, nah, nah!
The
sample looping facility of CEP is an exciting and creative
new function which has uses far beyond the immediately obvious. The
comprehensive loop creation and management tools included
in the multitrack window come complete with some clever
functionality to match tempos and keys between samples and
loops... The Loopology loops are all free for use in either
commercial or non-commercial projects, and the method of
manipulation-- as well as the loops themselves-- is so good
that knocking up a decent backing track, creating a music
bed or sting, or just experimenting with song structure
is remarkably fast and easy. "

" If you have not tried CEP
since version 1.0 then look at it again. Everything has been
honed and improved. For example, I find that I am more and more
using CEP's noise reduction transforms in preference to Sonic

A
Mac-using colleague said to me recently, 'I hate Syntrillium.'
When I asked why he replied 'Because they don't make Cool
