The DS2000 is an affordable ADAT & T/DIF interface unit for use with the DSP24 (the sound card that drives the DSP2000 C Port) or DSP24 MK II PCI recording card. It was designed primarily for the studio users who require ADAT or T/DIF format interfacing between compatible devices and their PC. Much of today's studio equipment can transmit and receive up to 8 channels of digital audio data streams simultaneously. This allows you to interface data between devices with bit accuracy. The data remains in digital domain and so preserves the utmost quality. There are many devices which utilise these formats such as the Alesis ADAT and Tascam T/DIF digital recorders, mixers, keyboards, computer audio interfaces etc. |

| The DS2000 allows you to connect any compatible
ADAT & T/DIF devices to your home/studio PC. It is as simple as connecting
the unit to your DSP24 or DSP24 MK II PCI card using a 44pin H-BUS cable.
Additionally to ADAT and T/DIF connectors, the DS2000 supports AES/EBU and S/PDIF I/O. This allows you to output or mix audio streams from ADAT-T/DIF channels to S/PDIF or AES/EBU (stereo channel). It is also possible to record from S/PDIF or AES/EBU into an ADAT-T/DIF device. This is a feature which is very useful in many studio situations. In addition to direct connection to the DSP24
series cards for interfacing with your PC, you can also use the DS2000
as a stand alone interface between an ADAT or T/DIF source stream and
a high quality multi-output DAC (digital to analogue converter) like the
DAC III. For example, this is an excellent way to get 8 x fully balanced
(up to) 24-bit/96kHz outputs from an ADAT or T/DIF stream supplied from
a keyboard or mixer. |
