DSP24 Media 7.1

High Quality 24-bit/96kHz Multi I/O Audio System

The DSP24 Media 7.1 is the world's first audio interface to feature true 24-bit/96kHz recording and playback, surround sound capabilities (4 inputs and up to 10 outputs) and a hardware GS compatible synth.

You get all of your regularly used inputs and outputs located on a rugged, metal-cased breakout box, which connects to a PCI card within the PC.

The low latency - multiclient drivers make the Media 7.1 ideal to use with all of the latest music and audio applications including: SONAR, Cakewalk Pro Audio, Guitar Tracks Pro, Cubase VST/SX/SL, Nuendo, Logic Audio, Cool Edit Pro, Cool Edit Pro 2, Sound Forge, Acid, Wavelab, Samplitude, GigaStudio, Reason, Live and many more. It's very simple to install and use and makes a great choice for you to build a home studio around.

In more detail

Primarily designed to meet the needs of home musicians and multimedia developers, the Media 7.1 also has strengths that make it an attractive and cost-effective proposition for hi-fi enthusiasts, broadcasters, DJs, gamers and the home cinema market. For example the a phono pre-amp (with RIAA EQ) allows users to connect a turntable directly to their PC. The included software allows for recording and restoration of old vinyl records, ready to burn to CD.

A multitude of hardware connection options are provided including a microphone pre-amp with gain gain control and phantom power, switchable phono pre-amp (with RIAA EQ) / line level analogue inputs, headphone amplifier, 8 multi channel analogue outputs, and a 16ch MIDI interface.

As its name suggests, the Media 7.1 is a great tool for decoding and playing surround sound too. Using the included WinDVD software from Intervideo, users can watch DVDs on PC and listen in full surround sound through multi-channel analogue outputs.

Excellent driver support and compatibility is available including Windows 9x/ME/2000/XP with support for ASIO 2.0, GSIF and WDM. The included ASIO 2.0 drivers of ST Audio's DSP24 series support 2ms latency at 96kHz and 5ms at 44.1/48kHz (even lower values under Windows 2000/XP). This means that users of software synths (like GigaStudio or VST and DXi instruments) you can comfortably play live, even when using real-time effects.
