If you have a Yamaha keyboard, mixer, sound module etc with a 'TO HOST' or 'TO PC' port, and a PC with a serial port, this cable enable them to communicate via MIDI.

This means you can use your keyboard with ANY MIDI based programs such as Sonar, FL Studio Fruity Loops, and keyboard tuition software.

• In order to use this cable you need to download the Yamaha CBX driver from here: http://www.global.yamaha.com/download/cbx_midi/index.html
  
• This cable will not work with a USB to Serial adapter.
  
• You might find MIDI operation to be unstable if other devices such as a Palm Pilots or Digital Cameras etc are also installed on the same COM port.
