ADS Tech has entered into a licensing agreement with Adobe Systems Incorporated to bundle the full version of Adobe Audition 1.5 with its new ADS Tech RedRover Audio Software Remote Controller. A cost-effective USB device, the enhanced RedRover provides both foot pedal control as well as pushbutton control of the Adobe Audition audio (or Cool Edit Pro 2.x) software at up to 10 feet away from the computer.
With the ability to control the audio software while 10 feet away from the computer (or even further with an optional USB hub or extension cable), users no longer have to worry about crowding their instruments around the computer so they can reach their computer and mouse. They also don’t have to worry about their guitar picking up interference from their monitor.
“ADS Tech’s new remote controller leverages the power of Adobe Audition and removes the restrictions of being tied to a PC keyboard and mouse,” said Hart Shafer, Adobe Audition senior product manager. “It actually maximizes creativity and productivity, especially with the new foot pedal, because users don’t have to stop the creative process and move over to the computer to make adjustments.”
Adobe Audition 1.5 (formerly Cool Edit Pro 2.x) is widely recognized as the digital audio tool of choice for musicians, audio professionals, and video professionals who are focused on creating rich, nuanced audio of the highest possible quality. With its advanced audio mixing, editing, mastering and effects processing capabilities, users can edit individual audio files, create loops, import more than 45 DSP effects, and mix up to 128 tracks.

Designed to manage a broad range of audio control capabilities with an array of knobs and buttons, the ADS Tech RedRover enables users to track and control an unlimited number of audio tracks without even looking at the computer monitor. The LCD screen at the top of the device shows current session and track information, while the level meter displays decibel reading during playback and recording.
A Track Select knob allows users to quickly set the active track and then Master and Track Volume knobs can be used to provide level control. The status of each track can be adjusted with the Mute, Solo and Record buttons. Buttons are also included for quick access to the Cue and Metronome functions. Across the bottom of the unit, there are large transport-control buttons with LED-activity lights above each button.
Equipped with USB connectivity for quick and easy setup, ADS Tech’s RedRover works with any sound card and features standard multitrack transport controls that seamlessly interact with and control Adobe Audition's on-screen displays. Et Cetera will be offering 2 ADS Tech RedRover based products:
