Cool Edit Pro: Troubleshooting miscellaneous errors in XFMs (Transform menu items)

If you get an error like "This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down" when trying to access one of Cool Edit's Transform functions, it may be that something in Cool Edit has become corrupted. Try the following:

REMOVE Cool Edit:

  • Start,
  • Settings,
  • Control Panel,
  • Add/Remove software.

Find Cool Edit from the list of programs and Dbl-click on it to remove it from your directory.

Look in your hard drive and remove any older or beta copies of this program.

Rename "Cool.ini" to "Cool.bak" (located in your windows directory).

Do a Full Defrag on all your hard disks even if it does not need it.

Re-install the software. If you have the Shareware versions, we recommend you download a new copy from our website at:
