I have written a script but...

Cool Edit Pro: I have written a script, but it doesn't behave properly. How to I record and run scripts properly?

To record a script:

  • Open a file that is typical of the ones you will want to run the batch file on.
  • Select Options/Scripts and Batch Processing.
  • Type a name into the 'title' blank in the script window.
  • Click on record. The Script window will go away. (Don't open/save a file during script recording if you want this script to work in a batch mode. Your file should have been opened before pressing the record part of the script.)
  • Do whatever functions you want to automate.
  • Go back to the script mode and press the "Stop" button.
  • In the bottom of that window you can enter information about the script you just made.
  • Click on the < To batch run a script:

  • Open the script window with no waveform open.
  • Click on your script and then click on 'batch run'.
  • Select the files you want to run the script on.
  • Select the destination directory where you want the processed files to go.
  • Select the format you want in which you want these files saved.
