Using Cool Edit Pro to Pre-Master files

Cool Edit Pro: Solution for problem using Cool Edit Pro to pre-master files for CD (click at end of track)

In some cases, users who burn their own Audio CD have reported clicks at the end of each track when they use Cool Edit to save their files. The problem lies in the WAV header. Cool Edit can write to some header fields that some CD-mastering software does not parse correctly. In Cool Edit, go to /View/Info and turn OFF the "Fill * Fields Automatically" checkbox in the lower left corner to keep Cool Edit from writing to those fields. You may also need to re-open files edited previously in Cool Edit and delete any information contained in files in /View/Info that have asterisks (*) next to them. This should solve the problem for you. When you go to save these files, Choose "Save as" and un-Check the box in the lower left corner that says "Save Extra Non-Audio information".
