Cool Edit Pro: What to do if Cool Edit aborts (quits, exits, closes) immediately after starting.

Cool Edit performs a self-check when you first run it, and if it finds any of its modules have been changed, it aborts immediately. Follow the instructions below to correct this problem:

• Remove Cool Edit Pro
• Start.
• Settings.
• Control Panel.
• Add/Remove Programs.
• Dbl-Click on Cool Edit Pro
• Defrag your system.
• Scan for Viruses.
• Reinstall Cool Edit Pro

If you have the trial version of Cool Edit, we recommend that you download a new copy form our website at: http://www.etcetera.co.uk/ . This should solve the problem.

It is also possible that you have a virus on your system that is responsible for initially corrupting one or more of Cool Edit's program files. We recommend that you check your system for viruses using several different Virus checking software with updated definitions.
